And here's how she sounds after it was cranked. Started on the first try!!!!
While I had everything off, I decided to paint a few of the things that looked pretty crappy. I painted the oil pan, fan shroud, and air cleaner housing.
And this is how she looks with everything back on.
With everything out of the way, I installed my LC Engineering block off plates on the head as well as the intake manifold.
And this is how she sits as of last night. Intake, carb, starter, and exhaust manifold installed.
Well, next weekend, came and went and now I'm onto the following weekend. These rebuilds take a lot longer than you first expect when you're a greenhorn. I got the head torqued on with a new gasket.

Went a head and replaced the oil pump seal and put the pump on the timing cover.
And then put the timing cover back on the front of the block
It's pretty important to keep the order of the bolts on the timing cover since alot of them are differn…

When I took the caps off the side of the engine block, I noticed a lot of rust, and dirt.
This is normal when you use water instead of coolant in the cooling system. Since the day I got the truck, it always had water in the radiator. I continu…
I noticed there was a lot of oil coming out the back of the engine. There was also alot of oil in the bell housing......
Also decided to remove a couple of things that have been out of operation on this truck for a long time.........The A/C com…
I bought some engine cleaner and went to work. Found some familiar toyota markings under all that grease.

- A 22re with a bad bottom end but im pretty sure the head is still good. The motor had a rebuild that lasted 3k and i think it spun a rod bearing. .030 over, cam and ported head.
-a w56 trans(forward shift type), but i think i might hold on to that.
Thats pretty much it for now. I will have an entire 22re set up as soon as i pull it out for the swap.
Let me know if there is anything specific you are looking for, chances are i might have it.
